The president of Scientific Caribbean Foundation (SCF), Dr. Juan F. Arratia traveled to China on May 18, 2019 to offer a week long workshop "Best Practises of the Saturday Research Academy Program" to the academic community of Chan'an University in Xi'an, China.  Xi'an was the capital of the first Chinese Emperor, and site of the Terracotta Warriors   .

Congratulations to Leonardo Zambrano Tapia from CIMATEC, Caguas for his research presentation "Point Mutation in the SLC2A2 Gene Affecting Transmembrane Attachment of Glut2,"  Daniela Umana Rodriguez from  Marista School, Guaynabo for her research presentation "Dynamic Model of Juvenile Huntington's Disease: Cognitive and Physical Problems," and Alexander  Zambrano Tapia from CIMATEC, Caguas for his presentation "Ph Resistance of V-Type Proton Atpase Subunit to Acid Mutation Point Mutations in Positioning," they were the best three presentations of the Spring 2019 Pre-College Research Symposium.
