Undergraduate  Research Program

Introduction 

The MIE grant  developed a first class research network with institutions from the US mainland, specially National Laboratories (Sandia, Lawrence Berkeley, Lawrence Livemore, Los Alamos),  and Research Institutions (UCLA, Cornell,  MIT, Carnegie Mellon, ASU, UTEP, UC-Berkeley), Puerto Rico (UPRM, UPRB, UPRH) and abroad (CSIC, Technical University of Berlin, Moscow State University).  During the summer months of June and July, MIE scholars traveled to those locations to be mentored by research professors, implementing research projects in STEM fields.
